A Vermont 501(c)(3) Nonprofit

Helping Vermont stay rescue-ready.

The Vermont Urban Search & Rescue Association raises the funds that equip and train the teams who respond when structures collapse, water rises, and people go missing, lessening the burden on public funding so Vermont stays ready.

Our purpose

Funding the readiness Vermont counts on.

The Vermont Urban Search and Rescue Association, Inc. exists to engage in fundraising for all aspects of search and rescue services in the State of Vermont, in order to lessen the burden of governmental funding for those services.

We put those funds to work supporting Vermont's search and rescue teams with equipment, additional training, training aids, and special-needs assistance, enhancing the high quality of service already provided to the citizens and visitors of Vermont.

Every gift and membership goes toward keeping trained, equipped rescuers ready for the worst day.

What your support funds

Four ways we strengthen Vermont search and rescue.

Equipment

Helping teams obtain the specialized rescue gear that field operations demand and public budgets often cannot cover.

Additional training

Funding advanced courses and certifications so responders sharpen the skills that save lives.

Training aids

Providing the props, manikins, and tools that make realistic, repeatable training possible.

Special-needs assistance

Meeting the special requests and field needs that arise during deployment and implementation.

These four pillars come straight from our purpose in the Association by-laws.

We take care of our own

When tragedy strikes a member, we stand with them.

The people who train for search and rescue give their time and put themselves at risk for Vermont's communities. When one of our own, or their family, is struck by a personal tragedy or serious hardship, the Association is there to help carry the weight.

Part of what we raise goes toward standing beside members and their families in their hardest moments, because the people who answer the call deserve to know someone will answer theirs.
